Piano Lesson

Our Origins

When I decided my then four-year old was ready to take piano lessons, I was surprised to find an extremely small pool of instructors to choose from.  I quickly learned that many instructors prefer to start at six years old, taking five year olds as occasional exceptions, and I completely understood why.  Teaching a pre-school aged child something so involved as playing an instrument versus teaching a first or second grader requires 3x the amount of patience in half the amount of time allotted because of shorter attention spans.

But it's not impossible! Many European and Asian countries have a strong culture of early music education so I decided to move forward and teach my son on my own.  The best part (aside from the massive cost savings of course!) was the flexibility of having lessons in the comfort of my own home and on my own time... not rushing out the door for yet another place to be.  And now I get to share that with you.

After years of teaching other pre-school aged children, I've turn the most popularly used children piano books that I've been piecemealing activities from into a streamlined curriculum specifically tailored for three and a half to six year olds. Lessons that are fun, easy-to-follow and the coolest part: parent-guided.

Junior Prodigy Music was created to extend the availability of early childhood music education to any family that wants it.  Download and print the first three lesson activity pages found in our store page and follow along with free lesson videos to try it out for yourself.
